Satellite RS analyst on Crop and Climate [Hiring]

Summary:

Full-time senior satellite engineer who has skills in agricultural modeling. To work on data acquired from aircraft, satellites, or ground-based platforms, using statistical analysis software, image analysis software, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for getting insight from plants and soil. We will bring next level of satellite remote sensing analysis to regenerative farming.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work on remote sensing data analysis for crop monitoring and modeling, data assimilation.
• Process aerial or satellite imagery (Optical and Microwave) to create products such as crop health map or fertilizer map.
• Design and implement strategies for ground data collection, image acquisition, analysis, or display of geographic data.
• Integrate field geospatial data into analysis pipeline and weather data.
• Improving code and relationships in crop models at process-level to give more accurate responses to weather, management, and genetic factors.
• Applying crop models to evaluate adaptations to minimize impacts and take advantage of climate change scenarios.
• Discuss project goals, equipment requirements, or methodologies with colleagues or team members.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree in geoinformatics, remote sensing, crop science, physics, mathematics or equivalent.
• Able to implement and write processing scripts in Python
• Strong analytical skills on different types of models like Statistical, Mechanistic, Stochastic models, and apply them for crop modeling
• Result-oriented mid-career scientist with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in image processing, time series analysis, and predictive analytics.
• Experience in implementation of algorithms in gdal, QGIS or other remote sensing analysis software.
• Experience with Python machine learning and deep learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, and PyTorch/FastAI, TensorFlow. (It is a plus)
• Experience in implementation of algorithms in cloud platforms. (It is a plus)
• Good command in Linux (It is a plus)
